Fire pumps are a critical part of fire protection system, especially when they are fed via suction from water tanks. Properly maintained and tested, fire pumps will deliver countless years of worry-free performance.

Two (2) types of testing of fire pumps are needed:
1. Weekly / monthly testing, typically done by facility personnel.
2.

In-situ (or on-site) balancing is a form of rotational balancing which is achieved on site. Similar to car tyre balancing however on an industrial scale, most impellers/rotors will develop imbalance due to many factors; some unavoidable.

Ultrasound inspection provides early warning of bearing failure, detects lack of lubrication, prevents over lubrication and can be used on all bearing speeds.

Ultrasound Inspection may be performed on both open access and enclosed electrical equipment at all voltages (low, medium, and high).

Machinery vibration, especially filtered spectrum, is generally  the best indicator of rotating machine condition. Ambok Engineering & Trading offers services in various customised options:

1. Periodic monitoring contract.
2. Permanent contract with in-plant placement of specialist / technician, with or without equipment.

Non-destructive testing (NDT) is the process of inspecting, testing, or evaluating materials, components or assemblies for discontinuities, or differences in characteristics without destroying the serviceability of the part or system. In other words, when the inspection or test is completed, the part can still be used.

Non-Destructive Testing:

A proactive, non-contact and non-invasive inspection technique, which is often well suited as part of a predictive maintenance programme. 

Thermographic analysis provides a high resolution, non-contact means of monitoring the condition of electrical and electromechanical equipment, roofing and wall insulation, and refractories.
